VT AOE: PreK Math for All Part 2 6 Hour VIRTUAL Workshop
It is important to have deep content knowledge at your own grade level to ensure your instruction is effective for all learners. This means as a teacher, not just knowing how to do the math but understanding also how students will progress, develop and refine their thinking and problem solving skills within the most important concepts. When teachers deeply understand the content of the grade bands they teach, they are more readily able to support ALL learners in learning this math well. This workshop is part of our math content series supported by the Vermont Agency of Education to build strong pedagogical knowledge while also building strong math content knowledge. In part 2 we will explore how learning trajectories can support planning for mathematizing routines and play in early childhood classrooms and unpacking the importance of understanding five for young learners.
This workshop is supported by the Vermont Agency of Education. You will receive a Zoom link the day before the event. Please contact ashleymarlow@alllearnersnetwork.com with any questions. Registration for these events will be prioritized for Vermonters.
