Part 2 focuses on vertical alignment of Models and Strategies that support students’ development of important mathematics. This workshop also supports participants’ introduction and use of a Balanced Math Block to invite all learners’ exploration of effective models and strategies. We will analyze student work to inform instructional decisions and progress monitoring to help develop a robust understanding of our students as math learners. Throughout this course we will engage in math, use models and consider development of tasks for students.
