Catalyzing Change for All Learners: Actions for Leaders
In this two-session seminar, Heidi Whipple and John Tapper will share strategies for leaders, drawn from research and experience, to help support all learners to be successful with mathematics.
Session 1 (Two hours) will focus on the variety of systems that schools use to either encourage or impede equity in mathematics learning. Heidi and John will explore the fundamental principles of the All Learners Network that are aimed at closing achievement gaps. In this session, participants will learn how to make use of the High Leverage Concepts, rapid cycle inquiry, ALN Lessons, and formative assessment to address systemic growth for math learning.
Session 2 (Two hours) will engage participants in discussions about the variety of pathways administrators use to implement key components of math teaching and learning to support every learner. Heidi and John will report on the many ways schools who have collaborated with ALN have moved toward more successful math instruction, and greater equity in math learning.
